At Gorilla Tech we are comitted to help you get the best out of your investment, that is why with every purchase of our milling machine and ArtCAM JewelSmith, we include two full days of intensive training to help you get a great understanding of ArtCAM Jewelsmith and learn how to operate our milling machine safely and successfuly. Additional training is available on request.

This course introduces the increasingly popular use of computers in the jewelry industry for design and model-making. Students learn to use ArtCAM Jewelsmith software and will learn how to transform 2 dimensional sketches or designs into 3 dimensional models. They will design earrings, pendants, rings & component parts and generate rendered images with metallic finishes and include precious stones.

The course will also cover the Ring Design module and develop an understanding of the advanced jewellery design techniques available in ArtCAM Jewelsmith. Students will use the vector based modelling tools and learn how to combine designs from a 3D clipart library.

The use of flat bed scanners will be demonstrated to import artwork into ArtCAM for 3D modelling.

The course will also cover use of 3D Scanners for digitizing existing physical models that can then be used in ArtCAM.

3D design tools will be demonstrated and explained in detail. For each project we will machine a three-dimensional physical wax models using a CNC milling machine. The wax models can be cast in silver by an outside vendor. Although the technology involved with this class is not limited to jewellery, the scale, materials, and projects of the class are jewellery.
